Brassinolide and ethephon compound technology helps fruit farmers increase their income

The Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has jointly launched the "Citrus Precision Control Subsidy Project" with a number of companies, focusing on promoting the compound technology of brassinolide and ethephon. The program promotes cell division by spraying 0.02 ppm brassinolide during the flowering period, and uses 50 ppm ethephon during the young fruit period to regulate nutrient distribution, which can reduce the annual fluctuation of citrus production from ±30% to ±5%.

The pilot results show that the 2,000-acre navel orange base in Meishan City has achieved stable production for three consecutive years, the high-quality fruit rate has increased from 55% to 80%, and the average annual income of fruit farmers has increased by more than 20,000 yuan.
