In recent years, brassinolide, as a new type of plant growth regulator, has been widely used in agricultural production, and its magical yield-increasing effect has been favored by farmers.

Brassinolide is not a single substance, but a general term for a class of steroidal plant hormones. They are present in very small amounts in plants, but they play a vital regulatory role in plant growth and development. At present, there are more than 70 known brassinolide species, among which 24-epibrassinolide, 28-homobrassinolide, 28-epihomobrassinolide, etc. are common ones. Although they all belong to brassinolide, due to the subtle differences in chemical structure, their effects in promoting growth, resisting stress, and increasing yield have different focuses.

Different types of brassinolide have different effects

Take several common brassinolides as examples:
24-epibrassinolide:
Focusing on promoting root development and enhancing plant resistance, especially under adverse conditions such as drought and salinity, it can effectively improve the survival rate and yield of crops. It can stimulate the division and elongation of root cells, increase the root surface area, and improve the absorption capacity of water and nutrients. For crops in the seedling stage, the use of 24-epibrassinolide can promote rapid root growth and lay a solid foundation for later growth.

28-homobrassinolide:
It mainly acts on the growth of plant stems and leaves, promotes cell division and elongation, makes plants stronger, leaves thicker and larger, thereby improving photosynthetic efficiency. It can also promote fruit enlargement, increase yield and quality. It is widely used in crops such as vegetables and fruits, and can significantly increase yield and commodity value.

28-epihomobrassinolide:
It has the dual effects of promoting growth and enhancing stress resistance. It can not only promote stem and leaf growth, but also improve the resistance of crops to adverse environments. While improving crop yield and quality, it can also enhance the ability of crops to resist diseases and pests, reduce the use of pesticides, and conform to the direction of green agricultural development.

Scientific use can achieve the greatest benefits
The application methods of Brassinolide are mainly foliar spraying and soil root irrigation. Foliar spraying absorbs quickly and has a rapid effect, which is suitable for situations where rapid nutrition supplementation is needed or to cope with sudden adversity. Soil root irrigation absorbs slowly and has a long-lasting effect, which is suitable for promoting root growth and improving the overall stress resistance of crops.

The choice of application method depends on the type of crop, growth stage and specific needs. For example, for crops in the seedling stage, soil root irrigation can be used to promote root development; for crops in the vigorous growth period, foliar spraying can be used to promote stem and leaf growth and fruit enlargement; for crops suffering from pests and diseases or adversity, foliar spraying can be used to quickly supplement nutrition and enhance stress resistance.
