Application of plant growth regulators on kale

1. Tissue culture
The adventitious bud induction medium is MS +4.0mg/L6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BA) +0.1mg/L Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), and the rooting medium is 1/2MS + 0.4mg/L Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA).
The stem segment is used as an explant, the callus induction medium is MS + 4.0mg/L6-BA + 0.1mg/L 2,4-D, the bud differentiation medium is MS + 2.0mg/L 6-BA + 0.1mg/L Naphthalene acetic acid, and the rooting medium is 1/2MS + 1.0mg/L Naphthalene acetic acid.
The hypocotyl of sterile seedlings was used as explants. The sterile seedling culture medium was 1/2MS, the adventitious bud induction culture medium was MS+0.5~1mg/L 6-BA+0.1mg/L NAA, and the rooting culture medium was 1/2MS+0.2~0.5mg/L Indole Acetic Acid(IAA).

2. Promote rooting of cuttings
Indole-3-Butyric Acid（IBA）/Naphthalene acetic acid(NAA):
Soak the base of the cuttings in 10mg/L Indole-3-Butyric Acid（IBA）solution for 2h or quickly dip in 100mg/LNaphthalene acetic acid(NAA) solution, and then cut into the substrate, which can significantly increase the rooting rate and number of roots of the cuttings.

3. Control the elongation of seedlings
Paclobutrazol:
During the seedling cultivation of kale, the elongation of seedlings is very likely to occur, which affects the ornamental effect in the later stage. Spraying kale seedling medium with 20mg/LPaclobutrazol solution or spraying foliage with 40mg/LPaclobutrazol solution during the cotyledon stage of plug seedlings can significantly dwarf the plants.

4. Control plant shape and improve plant ornamental
Daminozide:
After the kale seedlings are potted and the plants resume growth for about 1 month, spray the leaves with 1000~1500mg/L Daminozide solution once, and then spray twice after 1 week. This can safely and effectively inhibit the growth height of kale, make its stems thicker, the plant shape compact, the leaves thicker, the leaf color darker, and the ornamental period longer, significantly improving the ornamental value.
