Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a compound with special plant growth regulating effects.

Thidiazuron (TDZ) is used for cotton defoliation and ripening. It is absorbed through cotton leaves, affecting the three main plant hormones in plants - ethylene, auxin and cytokinin, promoting the formation of natural abscission layer between stems and petioles of cotton, leading to cotton leaf fall.

Mechanism of action of Thidiazuron (TDZ)

Cotton is extremely sensitive to Thidiazuron (TDZ). Generally, 4-12 hours after use, the ethylene produced in cotton increases significantly.

At the same time, Thidiazuron (TDZ) Thidiazuron(TDZ) inhibits the conduction of auxin in plants and acts on cytokinins that promote plant growth. This special mechanism of action does not interrupt the metabolism of plants, ensuring the normal maturation of cotton bolls.
After spraying Thidiazuron(TDZ), cotton leaves first lose their luster and turn red, some leaves become slightly necrotic, and finally fall off. These symptoms are caused by cotton metabolism and are similar to aging cotton plants.

Thidiazuron(TDZ) spraying time:
The specific spraying time should be determined according to weather conditions. It is best to have a daily minimum temperature of more than 12°C and a daily average temperature of more than 18°C 3-5 days before and after spraying. Try to avoid cooling weather within 7 days.
