How to use 40% Ethephon on tobacco?

I. Tobacco
1. Treatment of stems and leaves in the late growth period

(1) Ethephon is mainly applied by spraying the whole plant.
For early and mid-term tobacco, it is usually applied on sunny days. 62.5-87.5 ml of 40% Ethephon solution can be used per mu, diluted with 50-100 grams of water for spraying. In about 3-4 days, the tobacco plants will gradually turn from green to yellow, which is similar to natural maturity.

(2) For late tobacco, spray 1000-2000 mg/kg of Ethephon solution.
In about 5-6 days, the green leaves will turn yellow. Alternatively, prepare 5% Ethephon solution and apply it around the stem at the base of the leaves. You can also peel the stem epidermis longitudinally to about 4 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, and then apply the Ethephon original drug. In about 3-5 days, the tobacco leaves above the applied part will gradually turn yellow.

(3) The drug lasts for about 8-12 days on tobacco.
It can be applied during the tobacco growing season and sprayed on the upper and lower leaves for about 2 times.

2. Post-harvest tobacco leaf treatment method
(1) Soak the freshly harvested tobacco leaves in a 500-1000 mg/kg Ethephon solution to clean stains, and then bake them. The baked color is relatively yellow.
(2) During the tobacco baking process, in order to promote the yellowing of tobacco leaves and improve the grade of tobacco leaves, a container containing 450-700 mg/kg Ethephon solution can be placed in the baking room to allow it to evaporate ethylene gas.
